Dam Gallito Ciego - Lambayeque - Cajamarca

Those in charge of the dam Gallito Ciego, located between the departments of Lambayeque and Cajamarca, opened the floodgates Tuesday to expel surplus water. This is due to the intense rains in the northern part of the country.
"The continuous rains that are taking place in Cajamarca make the Gallito Ciego dam have a surplus of water. This surplus is expelled through the exhaust valves.

Downstream from the engine room is a compensation reservoir that regulates the flow of water back to the river so that it is maintained for the activities of the lower basin. Therefore, his office contemplates the demand of water required for the agricultural activity of the Jequetepeque river valley.
This structure is of great importance to the agricultural sector as it provides water for the fields of Jequetepeque Valley, whose river of the same name has increased its flow by approximately 680 cubic meters per second, 585% higher in its historical flow .
